Ricardo Cury, M.D.

Dr. Ricardo Cury has been appointed the chair of the Department of Radiology at Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.

Dr. Cury has been the chairman of the Department of Radiology at Baptist Health South Florida and Radiology Associates of South Florida for the past 8 years, and director of cardiac imaging at Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute for the past 11 years. He is also the chief medical officer of Mednax Radiology Solutions. Prior to moving to South Florida, Dr. Cury was the director of cardiac MRI at Massachusetts General Hospital and assistant professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School

Due to his outstanding contributions to the fields of radiology and cardiology, Dr. Cury has been recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Radiology, the Society of Cardiovascular CT, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Heart Association. He is a past-president of the Society of Cardiovascular CT.

Dr. Cury has authored more than 200 original scientific publications in major radiology and cardiology journals, and over 400 abstracts, book chapters, case reports or invited presentations.

A graduate of Santos School of Medical Sciences in Brazil, Dr. Cury performed his residency in diagnostic radiology at MedImagem, Beneficencia Portuguesa Hospital, followed by a clinical fellowship in cardiovascular imaging at the Massachusetts General Hospital/ Harvard Medical School.
