New chief of the Division of Internal Medicine

Dr. Amalia Landa-Galindez, associate professor in the Department of Translational Medicine, will assume the additional responsibilities of Chief of the Division of Internal Medicine.  In this role, she will oversee and lead all curricular and clinical activities of the Division.

Since joining FIU as assistant professor in 2013, Dr. Landa-Galindez has served our students interested in Internal Medicine and medical specialties. As division chief, she will continue to oversee and lead all curricular education, clinical practice and clinical/translational research activities.  She will continue to serves as course director of the Musculoskeletal Systems Course and as the Internal Medicine Clerkship director. She will also continue to see patients at the FIU Faculty Group Practice.

Dr. Landa-Galindez received her BS from the University of Miami and her MD from Tulane University. In 1993, she completed her residency training in internal medicine at the University of Kansas, following her first two years of residency training at the University of Miami.
